The Prescotts of San Miguel de Allende

In 1965, in the Museum of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, General Dwight D. Essenhower dedicated the mural of the June 6, 1944 Omaha Beach landing. This Great Mural was painted in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The artist, parachutist, William Linzee Prescott had dropped on St. Mere Eglise in Normany fifty years ago. He'd been a parachutists in the 505th since its inception even before the 82nd Ariborne was formed out of World War I hero Sergeant York's division.
